edit game after it ended

Post by richb3 » Sat Mar 06, 2010 10:35 am

I want to go back in and a specific play after the game ended. with bases loaded I had marked one run scored when actually a second run scored. I found the specific play and went into edit mode however it would not allow me to advance the runner from third to home. I can only edit the results of the play at third. how do I advance him to home?

A change that could impact the result of the game can not be made after the fact. You can make changes like changing an error to a single or vice versa, or changing the reason a runner advanced from 1st to 2nd (wild pitch instead of steal, etc), but you can not actually change the base a runner is on. If this happened during the game, you can use Undo/Redo capabilities to make the change, not in the post game pitch by pitch editing.

We are considering how to add this type of editing in the future, but it is a big challenge ... just as an example, suppose you changed a base hit to an out after the game... now there are 4 outs in the inning. Or you change an out to a Home Run, and now that inning only had 2 outs. There are an infinite number of scenarios like this that can make the scoring completely inaccurate.

We will continue trying to increase what can be edited without having the potential to cause the problems like the ones above.

Thank you.

ok, I thought the runner held on third, he did not, he scored. How do I show the extra run scored.

Not changing it will impact the game because it was an incorrect entry.

Why don't you allow us to make the editing decisions.

Do I have to re-enter the entire game from scratch to correct this?

thanks,

To make the correction you can email yourself the scorecard and undo to the point where the error occurred then re-enter the plays using the emailed scorecard as a reference.

the tip also supports the idea mentioned on other thread, the ability to email yourself the play by play from the handheld, having the hard copy handy would help going back and making a game changing alteration...

The advantage of the scorecards is that you can see hit locations as well for folks that are tracking that.

Dumb Follow up Question - How do I do Undo?

I went into Game Manager, and into the game, and Pitch by Pitch however I did not see an undo capability

thanks for your patience

In the Game Info screen press Play in the upper right. In the scoring screen at the bottom are the Undo/Redo buttons
