Update Game Lineup When Roster Available.

I have entered my high school team's schedule in advance. The games are known and scheduled. However, none of the teams have rosters yet. I know that you recommend (or used to) that we not create games until game day, so that we can build rosters in advance.

However, I would LOVE it if there were a way to say in a game (that has NOT started), "Update My Lineup based on the roster, which I now have." Why would the lineup of a game be restricted/limited to the roster on the team at the time the game is created?

I do not like having to re-create the game. If there is a way to do what I seek without recreating the game, please let me know.

What type of device are you using?

I know on ios, they have fixed this so that changes to roster will also update lineups. Not sure if this feature is on android yet.

edit: just tried on android and works there as well.

Will only work before game has started.

This was added to ios in version 4.15 on 7-19-13.

I have both iOs and Android, though the one I care about is the Android, at this point.

Here's what I tried, with no luck.. please fill in my missing steps:
1. Go to Roster of my team. Remove 4 seniors from last year. Save Team.
2. Go to Game 1, scheduled for May 23.
Can't seem to do anything from the main "summary" page.
3. Hit "Play" and go to roster options. Cannot sync roster into the lineup, though I can still (as always) sync my lineup to the Roster. (which I don't need.)

I don't actually "start" the game... so in theory, you're saying I should be able to do something to update my GAME lineup from my TEAM Roster, right?

This only works for ADDING players. Removing from Roster wont remove from lineup. I thought you were looking to add to roster? (You said you have no rosters currently.)

Adding to roster will add to lineup.

To remove a player from lineup, just delete him from the lineup page (in android, long press on that player and select remove).

Otherwise, yes your steps are correct...hit play, get taken directly to the lineup page, and you will see any new players that were ADDED to your roster.

Thanks for your reply. Look, I have 27 games created in advance. All of them have inaccurate rosters for every team. I want to IMPORT the correct roster into those games I've already built.

The product can't do that, am I hearing you correctly? If not, then this needs to be an enhancement request. Why (again) would they want to PREVENT this option? One good reason and I'll never ask again.

I think you could import the rosters thru the admin site.

If you did an options-export, then add your updated (new) rosters to those teams, then did an options-import.

Then open an existing game, when it takes you to lineup screen, you should see all newly added players.

Why are you creating the full schedule in advance? There are so many reasons we recommend why not to do this. What do you see as the benefit of doing it in advance? We are trying to understand the use case.
