Earned or Unearned run?

Here is the senario:
Runners on first and second one out. Batter hits a lazy fly to left for a single. Left fielder waits for the ball to come to her and missplays it. The runner on second advances to third on the hit and scores on the fielders error. Iscore credited the pitcher with an earned run. Shouldnt this be unearned the runner would not have scored if the fielder had made a clean play.

In the pith by pitch it says:
1) Player 3 hits a medium pop fly for a single.
2) Player 1 scores on an error by the left fielder.

Is iscore right to score it an earned run?
Please let me know so I can try to figuer out how to fix it if necessary.

What happened on subsequent plays? Did one of the next batters get a hit? If so, the run is earned as the runner would have been driven in by a later batter.

6 pitches latter the girl now on third scores on a wild pitch, the girl on second afvancse to third. The next pitch is hit sofyty past second fpr a single, the runner on third scores. The next batter pops up to the pitcher. The next batter strikes out on five pitches. The error allowed 1 extra run to be scored. They should of only scored two runs and they scored three. If the error was mot made the score would have been two zero.

The subsequent hit causes iScore to view this as an earned run. If you want it to be unearned, you can manually override statistics in the Team Pitching for the game by selecting the game in Game Manager, selecting the game, selecting Pitching Stats, and tapping the ER value for the pitcher and reducing it by 1.


Analyzing what you said above, it sounds like even if you take the error out, then a run would have scored on the wild pitch and you would have had runners on second and third anyway, and the single would have driven both in.

Thanks for the quick reply. I dont think she would have scored on the single as it barely made it to the outfield. That being said, since it is a judgement call i will leave it the way it was scored by iscore.
