pitch by pitch editing

Post by MarkP » Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:56 pm

I've had a couple of entry problems where I've either missed an at bat and been off by a batter (opposing team) and therefore need to be able to go back and 'insert' the correct action. Is it possible to do this and have the scoring, which was correct after that point just assigned to the wrong batter, move? Also, I missed a run scoring and didn't catch it until the other team and I compared books later in the game. I tried to fix it after the game was over and am not given the option to advance the runner. Everything is 'grayed out'. I'm not changing an out to safe or a run to not scored but there is no option to advance the runner beyond where I had her. Any help?

You can not make changes that will potentially change the result of a play. You can only change how the play occurred. If you had a runner on first, and we allowed you to "insert" another at bat, what would happen if there were 2 outs and you inserted an out? We have covered this many times in the forum why potential "ripple effects" limit what we can allow you to edit.

Here is a link that describes the various ways you can make edits post game:

it's no different than what has to happen on paper. But digitally it should be easier to 'insert' the missed batter without having to sit there and re-enter each batter's actions before the game can continue to be entered. Score keepers miss at bats and scorebooks need to be adjusted all the time.

As for the stranded runner at third question, changing that to a run scored wouldn't have any effect on the outcome of the play other than the score. Why not allow that kind of edit?

A stranded runner at third is something we would like to allow you to edit. If you can do an Options -> Export and email us your customer ID (found on Option screen) and which game / inning you stranded the runner in, we can take a look at your data to see if it is something we can update for you. Send email to support@iscoresports.com.
