Courtesy Runners

Post by canchaser97 » Mon May 14, 2012 8:14 am

This weekend our catcher had some great hits and his courtesy runners had a rough go of it. Two times the courtesy runner got out stealing 2nd. Both got caught stealing second. How do I enter who is doing the courtesy running? Can you subsitute once the batter(catcher) is showing on base? According to our rules it's the player with the last batted out.

Also if I can remember who did the subsitute running can I change it in the play by play somehow?

Iscore handles this easily...

Catcher gets on first base (record this as normal)
then

tap the base runner icon on first.. screen = "what happen to runner that was on first base?"
tap Courtesy Runner button (lower right on iPhone),
select player from list that pops up,
hit save.

Courtesy Runner now on first.

on the steal pitch
tap Runner icon on first. screen = "what happen to runner that was on first base?"
tap out
tap Second,
tap Caught stealing.

The scorecard will show a purple C# by first for courtesy runner

The batting stats will show a Caught stealing for the courtesy tuner
The batting stats will show a hit and at bat for the catcher

Thank you! I knew how to score the caught stealing but I missed the courtesy runner button completely.

This is the coolest app - it's just learning everything you need to know about scoring (and how to do it) that is the trick. I wish someone put on clinics about how to be a score keeper. I would sure love to attend one so I could learn faster. I've learned so much from the forum just reading up on different situations. Thank all of you for your help and suggestions!
