I'm a brand new user - first game scored yesterday. I dont' have the batting order for our JV team when I get to the game. I just set the starting line up as they come up to bat (and out on deck). I have all 22 kids entered into the team roster already. (We do play a split squad but different ones play together all the time).
I didn't realize until yesterday that all the team members are set to yes on batting. So somehow I ended up with 22 kids listed as batting in the starting line up! Then I had no idea how to change that status while the game was going on. I ended up deleting them out of the starting line up (and maybe the roster - not sure) between innings really quickly and seemed to get back on track.
During our JV season I will not have the line up before hand. How is the best way to handle this situtation in iScore so that I don't end up with 22 kids batting in the line up? Also why didn't it cut off after 9 batters since I had it set to batting 9? I'm sure this is my error but I can't figure out what the best fix for my situation is.
Another question - the opposting team had duplicate numbers (two #5's and two #6's) how do you designate that in your stats? These kids were easy to tell apart but since I was using numbers instead of names had no idea how to handle this.
Large team - how is it best to set batting order?

iScore allows any number of batters in a lineup. Just setting Batting = NO for the players that are not part of the starting lineup for the game.
For the duplicate numbers, you would have to put something in the player name to distinguish the difference between the players. If you don't know their names, you can put a descriptive feature if you want.

If I'm understanding you're saying the best way is to set all players to no before the game? Then switch those batting to yes (in the starting line up screen) as they come up to bat (until all 9 are identified)?FTMSupport wrote:iScore allows any number of batters in a lineup. ETA - I was trying to switch the players I didn't want to NO (in the starting line up screen) during the game once I realized what was happening (before I put in any data on that player) but I couldn't get it to pull up that option from the starting line up screen. Is there somewhere else to access it during a game or should I have been able to pull that up?

You can setting Batting = YES / NO from the lineup screen. After the game has started, you can use Misc -> Show Starting Lineup to bring up the lineup screen, and you can set Batting = YES / NO from there. Be sure NOT to use this for pinch hitters / subs... use the standard substitutions. This screen should only be used to change the starting lineup.
Our suggestion is to actually go to Team Manager and set your Roster to have the "most used" starting lineup so that when you create a new game, only small changes would need to be made to the lineup.
