Swapping out iPhone

Post by nkcaump » Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:07 am

The mute switch on my iPhone has fallen off, and I have an appointment set for the Apple Store this weekend. My guess is that they will switch it out for a new or refurb'ed one.

I only have a handful of games on there, but would like to keep this data. Is there a way through the Import/Export feature to pull this data back? Or should I just email all the games to myself and start with a blank slate?

Yes, we can get them transferred to your new device. Before visiting Apple (and after you have scored the last game you will be scoring on your current device), make sure you do an export from the Options screen. Make sure you get a "Successful" message (meaning the data made it to our servers).

Write down your Customer ID from the Options screen of your current device so you have it handy.

After you get your new device, put iScore Baseball on that, and go to the options screen. Do an Export from there (even with no data) - this establishes the account on our servers.

Then, email us the customer ID of your old device and your new device at support@fasterthanmonkeys.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false, and we can make the transfer. You will then be able to import the data into your new device.

If you back up your device in iTunes before you take it in, you should be able to simply restore from that backup onto your refurb unit and everything should be there.

Still, I would follow the guidance from FTM and use that as a secondary restore should the iTunes restore for some reason fail.
