Is there anyway to hide last year's i-ScoreCasts?

Post by LittleLeagueMom » Tue Feb 14, 2012 6:14 am

actually, have several questions about i-ScoreCasts...

1. Pretty sure I have seen some discussions here about password protecting access...once someone leaves our team we don't necessarily want them to have access to all of our future games. Is that an option now or will it be soon?

2. Is there any way to have different i-ScoreCasts links for different teams? I score for both of my sons teams and one of the boys on my older son's team has a brother that plays on a team that competes against my younger son's team and I really don't want their father (also the coach) to have access to all of the little guys games. Any suggestions?

3. Since I have 2 boys, I won't always be able to be at all of their games and will have other parents scoring for us this season. Their iScore accounts will have a different customer ID and therefore a different i-ScoreCasts link, right? No way to have them fed to my same link while the game is in progress, right? But, after they "share" the completed game with me, will it be available under my link?

BTW, the i-ScoreCasts is one of my favorite features of this program. So none of this is a complaint, just trying to figure out how to use it even more and trying to help you make it even better!

1. It is something we intend to add in the future, but don't have a date.

2. If you have an optional Team Website for the teams, then you can use the team website name to log in to the iScorecast and it will only show the games for that team. With just using the Customer ID approach, it will always show all games.

3. Yes, their device will be a separate customer ID. Once you Data Share the game back to your device, go to Game Manager, select the game, and select i-ScoreCast Synchronize to send the game up to the iScorecast server for your account, and it will then appear in your listings.

You can remove them from the iScorecast server by logging in to your Admin Website (go to Options -> Admin Website in iScore for info on how to do that), then go to the Scorecasts tab, and you can remove any that you do not want to display any more. This will just remove them from the iScorecast server. They will still remain on your device. So if you ever wanted to put them back on the iScorecast server, you could us the "i-ScoreCast Synchronize" option from the Game Info screen in iScore for that game.

last question (I think :D )...if we purchase your team website add-on, would we be able to set it up to receive live iScoreCasts from more than one device/account or would it still have to be shared and then synced?

If the answer is YES, I saw somewhere here that we can pull certain "frames" of stats from your paid website to our own private website, is that also true with the iScoreCast feeds?

The Team Website will still only pull from a single device, though that is something we do have plans to change.

Yes, you can take the stats and plug them into other sites with the Team Website option. You can use the iScorecasts as well. In fact, it includes an API if you are or know a web developer that can be used to pull the data in any way you would like.

LLMOM .. you have been a regular on this forum .. and so i know an advocate and user of iscore .. trust me.. take the plunge.. you will like the 20$ investment for the TEAM SITE. I find i use it instead of my device to look up past teams and stats often and cut an paste into excel. the team site really is worth the price if you are a regular score user. (you also get game specific score cast links)

Thanks OhioTex, really appreciate your insights...we have our first team meeting with my younger son's team and it is on the agenda, confident it will be approved. I don't have as much input/control on my older son's team (yet) so that one might be a bigger challenge. I will keep working on it because I can really see the benefits of using it!
