Game map

Post by bmclaurin » Thu Apr 14, 2011 7:11 am

I'm really liking the new game maps feature...very cool. I'm having a couple slight issues with the map that appears on the Team Website--specifically, the "game map" link that appears at the top of the Games page on the team website. For some reason, even though I have gone onto my Admin site to clean up the locations of each of my games (to make sure they each point to the specific field where the game was played), a stray game keeps popping up near Wichita, KS (we play near Atlanta). When you click on the bubble for that game on the map, it indicates a date of 3/5/2011 and shows it as a game that is currently in progress. Funny thing is, I can't find that game anywhere in my database or on my Admin site. FTM, could you help me get that game deleted from the game map?

Also, I have a few games that don't want to show up (edit for clarification: I want them to show up, but they seem to have a mind of their own and refuse to show up) on the game map (the one that you access from the Team Website). They show up fine on the Admin site, but not the Team site. Any ideas as to why that is happening? I'm probably not doing something right.

Thanks for adding this neat feature.

I have not experienced the extra "stray" game showing up, (one idea, check the tune up tab, on your admin site and see if a pending deleted game is hiding in there, perhaps it?)

I am experiencing some one off games not showing up. (no idea how or why yet)

@bmclaurin - If you can email us directly at support@iscoresports.com with your team website name, customer ID, and which games you are experiencing strangeness with, we can take a look. This is obviously new functionality, so we have not experienced everything that may go wrong yet, but we can likely fix any issues you are experiencing pretty quickly.

Yes, I actually had the same thought and tried that before posting but forgot to mention it in my OP. Thanks for the thought, though...

I'm seeing some of these things too...several old test games that have long since been deleted are showing on map and actual completed games not.

We may create a new filter that shows all mapped games and allow you to edit just that list (i.e. delete from map or change location of game). The issue is that the iScorecasts are what drive the map - so if you have a game you did not iScorecast, it will not show on the map. If you had iScorecast on for a game, it will show on the map (even after you delete it). To add the missing games, an "i-ScoreCast Synchronize" should do it. We do not have a way to remove games from the map one at a time. You can completely Opt Out of maps if you want, but it is not a "pick and choose" right now.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't work for me. This really isn't a high priority issue for me, so don't worry about it, but it will be nice if you add the filter at some point in the future.

Has there been any progress on deleting games from the map? I have a test game showing up in Kansas that I need to get rid of.

Thanks,
James

Log in to the Admin Website and you can edit the location of the game. To log in to your admin website, go to Options -> Admin Website from within iScore and it will give you your user name and password.
