Two teams, one website?
Two teams, one website?
We previously had one team with 27 players and therefore just had one website. After tryouts, we now have two teams (black and white). My question is do I need to have two separate websites so I can score and keep the stats of each team? We dont have a problem on the fees but wanted to see if we can keep just one website since we are trying to maintain a 'one team' concept. Thanks!
Re: Two teams, one website?
I suspect you will want to have TWO subscriptions. that is what i have done when I have had ~25 kids divided into two teams at an age group. It is just cleaner having two sites . .. One thing i did was use the "featured sponsor" to "link back and forth between two sites.
If you upload a team logo in the sponsor page, and title it TeamOther (black or white) and give it the URL of the other team web site, then mark the uploaded picture as a "featured sponsor" your logo will appear below the Menu on the left, and when you click it it will jump you to the other team site, you can do the same with other site to link back. you can decide to have same or different team guest passwords too
If you REALLY want one TEAM site, here are some tips.. ( In my opinion this would be too time consuming and confusing and why i would go for one site.). First, required, All 25+ girls have to be on the Team Roster, in Team Manager on your device (they need to be here to show up on team web site). and also required, You can only have one team in the Team Manager (call it TeamBlackWhiteCombined). For every game, you would need to manually edit the team name on the game info screen to differentiate TeamBlack/TeamWhite games as needed. Also for every game you create will need to manually edit the starting line up to have the right players listed, enable/disable batting as appropriate and set the batting order as appropriate. Optionally, You would also want to create a league for each team TeamBlackGames2011, Team WhiteGames2011,. If you use leagues much, this will double you league groupings.. for example. you would also have TeamWhite2011- Tourney Games, TeamBlack-Tourne Games, Team White-League Games, TeamBlack- League Games. Then on the Team Web Site ALL games will show up, unless you filter by League, So in team web site user settings, you would enable guest selectable leagues. then you can look at games and stats for all, or by league (/ team) as you need . Again, I would recommend one team site, not only for the complications this season in scoreing, but half a year from now or later, you will forget, you may find the doubling more confusing if you want to look back on your device for prior year history ..
my opinion, let us know what you choose and how it works out.

Re: Two teams, one website?
thanks for the reply on this. so here's a follow-up. we had originally purchased a website for the team and called it "Team". Now we've divided the team and have decided to get two websites. I already purchased a new website for Team A. Can I have our 'Team' website be Team B's website? How do I do that if the names are now different and I actually created a new Team B in my device after the split? I don't want to have to spend for another website for Team B if I could just use my Team website. Thanks.

We can point an existing website at a different team on your device. Just email us at support@iscoresports.com with the full URL of the team website, and let us know which team you want it to point to.

Thanks. I already emailed you the required info.
Re: Two teams, one website?
as a follow up on the above, the two websites for the two teams have now been put up. Now, the two teams are entered into a tournament as blue and white. however, there will be some games where the two teams will just field a combined team - meaning some players from each team will form a 3rd team of sorts. How do I do that? My device has the blue and white teams separately recorded with different lineups. Please help. Thanks.
Re: Two teams, one website?
Team sites are as you know 1:1 relationship.. One team On device pairs to one team on web site.. If you really want a pure team site for the combined "bluewhite' team games, in it's purest sense, that would be a third team site "bluewhite"
IF you want a temporary work around, use leagues.. take a team and add in other players for combined games. Eg add white players to blue team. and create a league for combined "bluewhite' games, .whoever is on the team roster on your device will show up on team web site..
Make sure and assign the team to the new blue white league, using team manger. Also change settings on web site to allow leagues to be selected...
(note: currently even if designated as inactive players on a team roster on device, the player shows up on web site roster and stats, unless filtere by leagues)

Re: Two teams, one website?
You can score for as many as you like on the device itself. The team websites are created for individual teams however. So if you want a team website for 4-6 teams, you would need 4-6 team websites. The team websites are not required to get the full functionality from iScore however. You can email yourself all the statistics right from the application itself. The websites are just a convenience for those that want to share the data without using email.
For those that do have "related" teams, some folks have made it so their "home page" links to their other team websites to make switching from team to team more convenient.
