You can make substitutions in pitch by pitch editor. If the wrong player was in the original lineup you can edit the starting lineup in pitch by pitch editor as well. It should be at the very beginning.

It goes to the fielding roster not the batter.

The pitch by pitch editor has both offense (batting) and defense (fielding) substitution screens, you can make any player substitutions you need in the pitch by pitch editor.

Go to pitch by pitch editor by...
Game manager > select game > select pitch by pitch >

In pitch by pitch editor, the first event is "game starts".... tap on edit (home/visitors) and you can change the starting line up card (batting and fielding positions) as needed -- Just like when you started to score the game intially. Done/ save.

In the pitch by pitch screen, Scroll down to any point in the game to make later substitutions. tap on the desired event, and the first line of every event will be "substitution edit" . Click on edit (home | visitors) and up comes the defensive substitution screen for the selected team.

The substitution screen defaults to defense - diamond graphic with roster listed below it. Just tap the fielding position icon and then the player to field that position, and substitution made. Save/done to exit back to event list....

If you have players in your line up card not batting, the offense substitution screen will be available too. on top of the subatitution screen (between save and cancel buttons) will be a toggle button for offense|defense substitution screens. Tap the offense button, to bring up the offensive substitution screen - bat icon across the top and roster players listed below. Again, tap a batting order slot then player name to insert them into that batting position.

If you have all players batting on the starting line up card, you don not have the toggle option for offensive substitutions, this because you do not have any substitutes on roster. (aka all are already batting). If you add a non batting player in starting line up, then the offensive substitution screen will be available. (you can add players to line up card in the game start event, edit starting line up, to access starting line up card for the game)

This is how pitch by pitch allows post game substitutions changes to be made. .The substitution screens are the same ones used when scoring and you tap a player icon (batter, fielder or runner) to make a substitution.

Hope this explains it in enough detail. If you need more help, please post back..
