How to score : First Base on Error

Post by Bibi50 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 11:21 pm

The situation: the Batter hits the ball and reaches first base on a second Baseman error.
I score
- In Play
- Error
- Position and type of hit
- Fielder that caused the error : 2B
and now the question "What happened to batter?".
Should I say "Error" again or "Held up" ?
If I say "Error" does this count as a second error ?

Thanks
Fab

Held up would be how I score it. Held up ends the play for the batter, I think error would prompt a request for who committed error which would statistically add an unwanted error.

In this case you are good either way..(held up or error).
Iscore does not 'double count' errors on a continuous play..
Stats will give e4 and score card will show e4 (both ways)

Thank you danmc and OhioTex.

In the future I'll score "held up" just to be consistent (with my thinking).

Cheers
