TIP: How to input stats (from other sources) into iscore?
TIP: How to input stats (from other sources) into iscore?
I have been keeping stats the old way for the past four months. Can I imput those stats into iscore? If so, how do I do that?
Re: imput stats into iscore?
If you are mainly interested in cumulative stats (rather than inputing each game for history) you can create a dummy game. Start it and then force end (misc-end game.) Now you can go in and edit the stats with your cumulative season stats to date. I think that if you want pitcher stats, you also have to have the player pitch at least one ball in your dummy game so they will show up in the pitcher statistics.

Since initial posting, iscore has added a way to import CSV files that may be helpful to know about in this thread.
it is intended for season stats, not individual games. and further described in this link:

Re: imput stats into iscore?
Team mom is correct regarding the dummy game. Once you have exited the game screen and are back to the game info screen then you tap team batting. The stats will show up, then touch the box you want to edit, it will go active, then input your cumulative stats.
Caution, do not tap recalc for this game as the recalc will overwrite the edits. A warning screen will come up regarding this if you accidentally tap recalc.

Re: imput stats into iscore?
FTM question, I understand the recalc overwrite in a game info screen noted below. If a user needs to recalc a different game will that recalc effect the game that was edited previously?
Re: imput stats into iscore?
If you make a change to stats or edit a game, the cumulative stats should recalc automatically. You should not have to hit the recalc button. However, if you do, and you have stat overrides, be sure to hit NO when it asks if you want to reset your overrides.
see this discussion on the recalc button.

Re: imput stats into iscore?
@danmcc - pressing the Recalc button on one GAME does not effect another GAME. If you go to Team Stats, and press recalc from there, it is going to do the recalc for all games for that team. So be sure to press NO on the overrides.
It is a very rare condition that you would ever need to press recalc. The only scenarios that come to mind are:
1. If you did a manual override and then realized you shouldn't have (some people question an earned run for example, but then realize iScore actually got it right),
2. If there was a bug in iScore on some stat calculation, and some future udpate of iScore fixes that bug and you want to let iScore recalculate the statistics.
3. Some new statistics are added that did not exist at the time of some old games, and you want iScore to back-fill some old games with the new statistics.

Re: imput stats into iscore?
FTM, good call on the team stat recalc, I forgot about that option.
Re: imput stats into iscore?
Is the edit functionality not available on the android version? I created the dummy game, ended it, and went to the Game info screen. When I select the Team Batting, the stats show but I'm not able to edit or enter and data. What am I missing here?
Thanks,
T

Re: imput stats into iscore?
It is available on Android. Just tap on any of the stats fields to bring up a keyboard and override. If you are not seeing it, make sure you are on the most recent version of iScore (v3.17 or newer at this point). Updates are free for anyone that has already purchased.
