adding a new player

in fridays phillies astros game, pete orr pinch hit for halladay in the sixth inning. When i tapped halladays icon to substitute a hitter for him orr wasnt listed on the names of players to substitute for halladay. I went to team manager and added orr to the phillies roster,saved it,and when i re-entered the game again and tried to substitute him for halladay,he's still not showing up on the list of players available to pich hit for him. What steps am i doing wrong? Thanks for the help,love this app!

First, I am surprised The MLB rosters did not have him, I am sure espnsupport will look into that.

What happened
The thing you missed/forgot was that Team Rosters ( in team manager) are different than Game Line Ups ( in game manager).. the game line up is created when you create a new game in Game Manager and it pulls from the Team Roster at that moment. After that they are independent, so later changes to team roster do not automatically update past game line ups..

what you need to do if it happens again..
In game, at main scoring screen, tap "misc > show starting line up". It brings up the in game line up. add player here. Set bat =no to start player on the bench...then go back to game scoring main screen and when you tap on the batter, the sub screen should now include him as a bench player.

After the game you can correct missed substitutions in pitch by pitch editor, so if you continued to score and had halladay bat, you can go back and fix that today in pitch by pitch

We just checked the data from Friday, and Pete Orr was a member of the team with Friday's feed. You need to be sure to refresh your roster data on game day to get the latest team updates. This can either be done from the Options->Add Ons screen, or by tapping Sync for each team on the Lineup screen when you have created your game.
