Sorry if this has already been asked and answered. I checked through all the posts and I did a search...couldn't find this scenario.
Batter hits line drive past SS to left field. Guaranteed single.
Left Fielder over throws to first baseman which allows batter-runner to advance to 2nd.
Additionally, what if there was a runner on 2nd who stayed until the ball was overthrown.
Thank you, I'm relatively new to scoring in general and have only used iScore once in a game as a test.
This is Minor 1 with lots of inexperienced players so tons of errors.

Re: Double on single plus error
You would use In Play, Single, then it asks what happens to the runners. You can advance them on Errors or On The Throw. Whichever makes sense for your situation.
It would not be a Double if the batter made it to second because of fielder's actions as opposed to his own hit.

Re: Double on single plus error
Thanks for the help.
Re: Double on single plus error
I'll continue this topic with a similar question. Runner on 2B. Batter hits single to LF. Had the ball been fielded cleanly and returned to the infield, there would have been runners on 1st and 3rd. The runner on 2B definitely would not have scored. But, LF booted the ball, allowing run to score, and batter to get all the way to 3rd.
When iScore asks what happened to the runner that was on 2B, well, he went home, but I can't say HOME and ADVANCED BY BATTER because that would give the batter an undeserved RBI. I can't say HOME and ERROR because that shows on the scorecard (and pitch by pitch) as advancing from 2B to 3B on an error which is not true, although the stats are correct.
If I say runner on 2B was safe at 3B (advanced by batter), and batter held up at 1st, and then I touch the runner on 3rd and say HOME -- ERROR -- LF, it then asks what happened to runner on 1st and I say THIRD -- ERROR -- LF. This is somewhat confusing because it makes it look like 2 separate plays in the pitch by pitch, but the scorecard is correct, the RBI is not awarded, the one error is charged correctly.
Is that the way to go? I'm OK with either the 2nd or 3rd option I guess. We aren't playing for money. I would just be interested in what others have to say. It seems every game, something happens that gets me flustered for a second, but I'm building up my repertoire of tricks.

Re: Double on single plus error
One possibility would be before entering the single, tap the runner on second, move him to third, and say he advanced by batter. Then enter the single to LF, and runner scored from 3rd to Home on Error by LF, and batter went from first to 3rd on Error by LF. (iScore will correctly only give one error to the left fielder if both runners are advancing on an error by the same player during the same play sequence.)
There may be other ways to do it... will see if the community has done it any other way.

Above is how I would score this. Primary thing is that the scorecard be correct and only one error charged, which is in fact the outcome. My son got the single in this exact situation last weekend (13U travel ball). The runner on second should have only advanced to third, but the LF (panicking because the runner on 2nd was the winning run) was too worried about throwing the ball instead of picking it up ... error! and the winning run scored. My son did not get the RBI.

I would score it as you did as well.
