Purging old players
Purging old players
As the season is getting closer, is there a way to delete all old players and start from scratch without deleting them one by one?

Re: Purging old players
Most people actually use leagues to separate players instead of deleting them. If you delete them, you lose all history of their statistics. By using leagues, you keep them on the device and if you ever have the same players in future seasons (on your team or as an opponent), you would still have their historical statistics as well.

Re: Purging old players
I would like to mark the players that are no longer on the team as inactive, like I do with baseball, but the inactive button doesn't seem to work. I can select it but it doesn't create a separate list of inactive players or mark the player as inactive.
This can cause a problem on a team, like the one I use the football iScore program for, that I'd like to keep using, year after year. Graduated players will keep showing up on the rosters and stats. Plus I have a team web site for that team.

We just submitted an update to Apple for iScore Football (basketball also) to support the Inactive capabilities like baseball has.

Great! Thank you!
Re: Purging old players
A good way to manage leagues is to use the year as the beginning name for the league. This year all my leagues started with "12/....." When doing tournaments that you would like to keep separate, use year/month/day as the first part of the league name. Example: For a tournament that starts today, I would use "12/08/31 Fall Tournament" as the name. By using the year (12/ .....) all of the games will sort together. Next year all my leagues will start with "13/....." There are other naming conventions you can use to take advantage of the sort sequence and keep games, players, teams together.
If you decide later to change the sort sequence, just change the name of the league and it will re-sort them when you exit and re-enter the app.
