Grounding into force out...

If you have any rules related questions, please ask in this forum. In general, enforcement of rules is up to the Umpire of the game and iScore does not specifically enforce them, but we want to make sure we score within them. Ask here, and experts can chime in.

Grounding into force out...

Post by danielao » Tue Aug 16, 2011 4:56 pm

Just trying out iScore for the first time, using an MLB game from earlier this month to test out the scoring. How is the following play scored properly in the software...
Derek Jeter grounds into a force out, shortstop Marco Scutaro to second baseman Dustin Pedroia. Eduardo Nunez out at 2nd. Derek Jeter to 1st.
Probably fairly basic, but I'm a scoring amateur. I've got the force out for the man at second, but how do I score Jeter's at bat?

Technically.. Derek Jeter grounds into a fielders choice 6-4 Eduardo Nunez out at 2B

iscore Screen touches..

In play
fielders choice
touch ball location and type of hit? ... medium, grounder, next
touch players that fielded the ball? ... SS (Marco Scutaro) - 2B (Dustin Pedroia.) (aka 6-4) done
What happen to runner on first base Eduardo Nunez? .... Out, Second, force out
What happen to the batter Derek Jeter ? .... Safe. First, Held Up

that is it

Welcome to the board.

There are some very good tutorial videos available that are helpful for new iScore users. Below is a link.
