ASA Co-ed question

If you have any rules related questions, please ask in this forum. In general, enforcement of rules is up to the Umpire of the game and iScore does not specifically enforce them, but we want to make sure we score within them. Ask here, and experts can chime in.

ASA Co-ed question

Post by ollie » Sat May 21, 2011 12:03 pm

We have a regular opponent in our local league who insists on running all of the bases whenever he flies out. Apart from taking forever about it, it really ticks off most of our players. Is there any rule against doing this, especially with runners on base, we're often confused by having the extra player on the base paths in case anyone decides to tag up.

Technically, no. None that I am aware of. However, if the umpire thinks he is doing it to confuse the fielders and is causing real trouble on the basepaths, the umpire has two options:

Calling interference and calling the runner closest to home out, or ejecting the batter.
