The first game I entered went to final automatically when the game was over, or I did it somehow unknowing. The next game still says quarter 4, how do I get a game to go final?

If the clock runs down to 0 in the final period it will go to Final (tap the Options in the bottom right to make sure you have the game set to the right number of periods).
