Recommendations for starting new season
Recommendations for starting new season
Getting ready to set up season stats this year. I believe I need to set up new "leagues" for conference, nonconference , and cumulative games. Do I need a new default or all league? I don't want to lose last year's stats. When I created this year's team all of last year's games were still showing up until I unchecked default which got rid of them but also all of the teams we play so I can't select them to put our new schedule. Do I have to create the teams and player names all over again like it was the first time working with the app? Do you have tips as I start my 2nd year with this app?

The following link is from the iScore Baseball documentation, but the same thing applies on league usage for all sports, so it is a good reference:

Basically you will just want to create a new league for the season, and make sure any games you create are assigned to that new league. You can then view stats for just this season, or full cumulative stats for all seasons (by selecting the ALL league), or any combination of leagues.

Re: Recommendations for starting new season
For year 2... I think you will find Understanding and Mastering use of leagues a big help.,
Leagues are simply a way to group and filter stats (games/teams/player) however you want.
The simple idea is you assign games/teams/players to leagues . Then only the stats from leagues you turn on are visible . The others filtered out.
The All league is a special league that enables everything to be visible ( unfiltered).
Likewise if no leagues are enabled, it masks everything and looks like you have no data.
Leagues have been a part of iScore since version 1. In my opinion one of the key features , not found in similar apps, that helps make iScore the best mobile scoring and stat program out there
If you master league usage, I think it will pay dividends for your use and enjoyment in year 2..
If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask
Good luck and enjoy

In order to view and switch between leagues to see stats for season and cumulative, do you have to purchase the website add on?

No. Just turn on only the league you want to view stats for in League Manager, then view the stats and it will filter to only games that have been assigned to the selected league.

Re: Recommendations for starting new season
We're in somewhat of a unique league. Every season, the same four teams play but have different players every season, some players that have played before and some that are new. Can I score the games without checking "All" in leagues as that will only bring up the four teams playing in this particular season, or will unselecting "All" and only having the current league checked cause me problems down the road

Using leagues is the recommended approach. Unchecking all is a good idea when you know you are only dealing with a specific league. Just keep in mind that if something looks like it is "missing", you may want to make sure ALL is on and find the data that way, then add it to the league you are working on (Player, Game, and Team can all be assigned to leagues).
